The Suicide Prevention Telephone is the specific device for the prevention of suicidal behaviors.
Like the rest of Esperança en Línia's services, it offers several telephone helplines 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The Suicide Prevention Hotline is staffed by volunteers selected, trained and supervised by health psychologists and we have the tools and training to respond to this type of call.
Who can call the Suicide Prevention Hotline?
- The Suicide Prevention Hotline is available people who express suicidal ideation or behavior.
- It also responds to people in situations of imminent or ongoing suicide and, if necessary, the emergency services.
- They can contact them. people worried about someone in their environment that manifests these types of ideas and behaviors.
- It also offers emotional support for suicide survivors, that is, people who have lived the death by suicide of a loved one or someone close to them immediate.
The Suicide Prevention Hotline was launched in the summer of 2020 in collaboration with theBarcelona City CouncilThe service also has the support of the Government of Catalonia.
It is the first device specialized in caring for people with suicidal behavior and operating 24/7 that was launched in Spain.
